Help With Nero

i have tried to install nero ver 5.5.8.0 to 5.5.9.0 they all say they are decomp files to the temp directory but no files are there.i have a copy of the 5.5.7.3 ver it installs ok but any ver of that will not install.i have uninstalled 5.5.7.3,went into the registry and deleted the ahead files before trying to load newer ver but they will not load,i,m running win98 sec edition.dose anyone have any idea or what i'm doing wrong,thanks.

Do you manage to run the installation program or r u talking about the unzipping process?

i downloaded the nero5590.exe from here and the ahead site both are the same 12 megs in file size niether will install,you run the exe file and its says in window(please wait while decompression installation files to c:\windows \temp)then after it runs another pop up window comes up nero-burning rom installer with a ok button,you click button then the opo up gose away but nothing installs,you go to to the temp directory but no files were decompress.i also notice its a web installer,i'm running a firewall also a router with my cable modem could this be a problem,i did try with my firewall turned off got same results no files are decompressed??????????

Do u get an error message?
Did u use an iffy serial for your original version?
This is a new one on me so any extra info youve got will be helpfull.

i do not get any error mess,you click on the nero5590 icon it says its decomp files to the win temp folder after a few seconds a nero burning update box pops up with a ok button,you click button the box gose away and nothing installs.i just down loaded a nero 5518 and it decomp files then the nero installer box pop up and it installed.but i can not get the nero 5590 installer to work i have downloaded it from 5 diff places it dose the same.i can only imaging that there is still a reg key that i have not removed which is preventing it to work but i have not found it,its got me puzzled.
