Help with audio out of sync

Can anyone help me i am new at all this, i am having real problems with the audio slowly going out of sync, the file i converted was xvid to mpeg which i did without any problems,its when i convert it to dvd the audio starts to go out of sync. i have tried everything and its driving me mad

Can you list the programs you are using to compile as a dvd we can maby help a little more

i had some probs with sync recently and resolved it with using TMPGENC express to convert to SVCD and then authoring with DVDLAB

So the mpeg is in sync? Also the file had what kind of audio and was in what container? Also as said what process did you use to convert?
