My movie has chinesse subtitle.. I want them out.. after ripping with dvd dycryptor i get a screen listing 65 items... How do i know which ones are the subtitles? Good Gravy

DS is not intended, by design, to strip subtitle and audio streams (although it could, of course, and I do hope this is added in a future release), since this can be very easily carried out with a transcoding tool (DVDShrink, for instance).

They are part of the VOB files. Ifoedit can remove them by loading the right ifo file.

It would be easier to use Shrink and set the video to 100% (no compression), and also take any audio out at the same time.

be careful when removing subtitles as they can contain menu info ;)

also note menu's can be in the Titles also and not just in the Menu side

well actually whats going on is I have a riped version of Final destination 2 with chineese subtitles that automatically play during the movie (you cant turn them off in the menus)

anyway So I figure ill just get rid of the subtitles using DVD shrink. So I try to open the movie and as its anyaizing it comes across this error near the end. Cannot find ..VTS_02_2.vob. I take it its giving me this error cause the menus have been modded and it cant anyalize them properly? anyway the point is now it wont open in DVD shrink.. Also instant copy it wont work. So SOme1 on another forum recommended DVD stripper if all I wanted to do is remove the subtitles. I know the subtitles arnt part of the movie too cause when i open with ifo edit it says a bunch of stuff (muble jumble to me lol) and then it says a few times subpicture: chineese. So I was just wondering what I can do to get rid of these subtitles?

Shrink needs all the files from the source DVD. It sounds like you don't have them all. Did you rip just the film?

DVD Stripper won't get rid of the subtitles but ifoedit will. Load the ifo for the film (usually VTS_1_0.ifo). Then select movie only fom the top and select strip streams. That is far as I know, as I haven't actually done it.

well I got all the menus and extras and everything in there.. (well some extras are removed) so How can I use ifoedit to remove only the subtitles and leave the movie/menus/extras exactly the same?
