Pioneer drives tend not to be great overburners - they either don't do it at all, or don't do it by much - one review of the A06 (retail version) said it could overburn 80min CD-R, but didn't support the extended lengths.

Pioneer are great DVD writers, but when I looked at them, I decided that it would have to be paired with a Liteon CD-RW for the trickier CD-R tasks.

If you need 90/99 min support, Mount Rainier on CD-RW, more chance of handling protections, then pair it with a CD-RW drive - or if you want two DVD regions without messing around, a CD-R/DVD-ROM combo -
