if a disc is CRACKED, i don't know if there's anything you can do about recovering its data. are you having problems with undamaged dvds as well? (it's hard to tell from the wording of your question)

First did you try DISCInfo to see who makes your disc? Also have you tried DVD Decrypter to rip your disc to the hard drive? If you need help using DVD Decrypter we have Tutorials. If after you try it and sill need help then post a question. Lets us know how you make out.
Sorry about that I should have said dvdinfopro that will tell you media ID.

It can sometimes help too if you rip the files with your Buurner, as this can be a bit more tolerant of read errors, than the DVD-ROM.

Absolutely spot on. Always use your burner to read problem dvdr's. And if DVD Decrypter cant rip the files off when reading in yoiur burner, then I hate to tell you, you have crap media or were not burnt correctly in the first place. Dont expect any media made by Princo to be read after 6 months or so storage. I have been slowly replacing my 6-12 months old Princo crap (thank goodness only a few disks but now only readable in my burner). Use quality Ritek G04 4x media and you will always be able to read them.

thanks
