Help please! with PC PVR

Hey all,

I am looking for some input on a PC PVR/Multimedia system i am building for a friend.

I am planning on using Snapstream Video software, but am having trouble deciding on a Tuner card. I need to have a DVI port to hook into a 50" Sony Grand Wega XBR rear projection TV. I liked the capabilties of the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-350 for the hardware encoding-decoding, but it will not support the streaming server to other machines. The ATI All-in-wonder 9600 pro will stream but doesn't have a DVI connector.

Here is a little info on what I am trying to do.

Project overview:
Multimedia PC to play games, perform fulltime PVR, serve MP3's to household, do PC Karaoke, transfer DV from camera to DVD and slideshow digital pictures.

Decided hardware so far-
Pentium4C 2.6GHz 800MhzFSB
2x Kingston HyperX DDR400 512MB = 1GB Dual channel mode
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard
2x Western Digital Special edition 250GB SATA hard drives = 500GB Raid0
Sony 4x DVD+/-RW
MSI 16x DVD
internal USB2.0 Card reader
Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum Pro

Any input into other choices for cards would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Looks like the ATI All-in-Wonders don't have room for DVI - I doubt that NVIDIA based solutions would either.

Looks like to only answer is a "straight" DVI capable video card, and then an input solution that fits the bill.

The only name that comes to mind other than Hauppage is Avermedia

You can use a normal RADEON and add a TV WONDER PRO, this way you´ll have all the features of an AIW and the needed DVI connector.

TV Wonder-Avermedia

It appears that the avermedia and TV Wonder are both full software MPEG.

I was contemplating the TV Wonder with a 9600 Pro or XT. I am just concerned about the CPU choking on too many functions. The AIW 9600 Pro had a MPEG assist, so i could still stream to the other machines, but would offload some CPU cycles.

Thanks for the help guys. :D
