Hi, I've recently installed a pioneer dvr-a06u on my dell demension 8100, I'm running windows 98se. It seems when I boot up I can play a dvd only once before the drive stops responding completely. the dvd plays great but as i said once I stop it the drive won't eject or recognise that there is a disk in it. I've upgraded the firmware to 1.07 and it doesnt work any better.
Any help would be apriciated
thanks

Hi itzarel, Welcome to our forum! :cool:

How did you connect your Pioneer? a DVDRW should always be the master at the secondary IDE canel, banded with a 40-wire ATAPI/IDE cable; install the lates busmaster driver and enable DMA for your burner;
also kill and reinstall the ASPI layer by using ForceASPI; see here: http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=32137

you wrote "DVD plays great" first; What about Data DVDs, are these recognized a second time?
