Help Please Movie Burning.

I downloaded an XVID (2 files)
Checked and it runs fine in Jet Audio 6.0 and DIVX Player 5.1

However when I burnt the 2 avi files using Nero 5.5 10.5, everything ok, runs fine except for 1 small problem, the bloody thing is upside down.

Have burnt many movies and never had this happen before, haven't installed any software that could cause this and I am stumped at what the problem is.

Can anybody help please would be very grateful.

So you didn't just burn as data then? Lots of people were reporting XviD encodes with Nero flipping when converted to (S)VCD however I could never reproduce it. Obviously there was a bad YV12 to RGB colourspace conversion going on somewhere, probably caused by an older XviD build than what I was using. Also seem to recall that Nero 5.xx decoded AVI's via VFW where as 6.x via dshow and as I no longer have Nero 5.x installed I can't really try any current XviD builds, but if you are running an older build I would suggest that you try updating.

My recommendation would be not to use Nero for encoding.

Should also point out that XviD and (S)VCD's both use YV12 but then again I believe TMPGEnc also converts to RGB and even CCE to YUY2. All the ffmpeg based encoders can do direct YV12 though.

DivX? You said the file was XviD? That said DivX has for sometime been capable of decoding XviD, but only via dshow and it last time I tried it had problems also as I said I think Nero 5.x decodes via VFW anyway.

Should also point out that XviD can now also decode DivX. Not DivX3 stuff though.

Sorry should have said both XVID and DIVX have also downloaded latest Nero 6.316 in hope this cures problem.

Thanks again
