help needed: printer printing weird characters

hi,

another problem for me; im not sure where to post this question. Recently, when i tried to print a pdf file, it looks ok onscreen but when it comes out on paper, it prints weird ascii fonts on some parts and ok on some parts; it 's an hp color laserjet 4550; today when i tried to print another pdf file, the same thing happened, but then when i sent it to another printer on the network (hp laserjet 3100), it printed fine; i'm puzzled b/c i didnt install any new fonts, and i m not sure if it's the printer going bad or driver going bad;

i know it's not related to the problematic computer i was seeking help earlier b/c the color printer is hooked up to a functional computer.

thank u!!

no, not at all; and i just tried deleting the printer and readding it but still have the same problem; i have been using the hp4550 ps driver but there r 3 diff. types of drivers for hp4550;

and i have never had prob. printing excel,word documents, or web pages, or even pdf files before until these 2 documents which happen to be both pdf format

edit: i deleted the ps driver and installed the 5c driver instead and it works!!! yay!!!

but i tried installing 5c driver instead of ps driver and it prints ok now.

Thanks very much for trying to help me!! )
