Help My DVD Burner Doesn't Work

Hello everyone, this is my first attempt at this so please bear with me.

I have a problem, it is that all of a sudden my stupid dvd will not work.
I insert the dvd, and the green control light comes on but goes out after about 5 sec's, the thing tries to work but nothing happens, it was working o'k yesterday (honest), but now the thing won't show owt (my accent slipped a bit then). Anyone out there inthe big wide world help please.

I'll take a shot at your problem, I say you may need a cleaner. But give more info and maybe you will get a better answer.
