Hi there,
I did my first try with DVDStripper yesterday (Bucking up Star Wars Episode II: AOTC), resulting in a coster.
The thing is that I tried to strip everything but the main movie (including that surround setup thing and a couple of cells for angle 2 and 3), and part of the menus (everything in Spanish and Portuguese).
I tried to play the IFO before burning and it did play good.
After burning, I tried in my stand alone, and after the FBI warnings it got stucked in some kind of loop…like searching….but didn’t play anything else. I pressed MENU a couple of times and got straight to the movie (pressing MENU again leads to the LOOP…so no menus available), but after the cell before the ones I delete (angle 2 and 3) it frizzed….I had to skip to next chapter.
Finally a complete failure.

Obviously I’m not going to delete de 4 cells of angle 2 and 3 again (2 cells in 2 chapters).
But the other thing … I can’t get it. I suppose I deleted something from the menu that I wasn’t supposed to.
The surround configuration sequence (in all 3 languages) had linked cells (Bold), but I erase everything related with it, so it shouldn’t affect.

The thing that confuse me the most is that, if I play VIDEO_TS.IFO in a player it plays good…but in the stand alone it freezes.
Please help me???

Know I’m doing it again, but I’m keeping VTS 01 (because I though it may lead to the menu), and I’m deleting the warnings.

Is there any way to know the links between cells and menus?. I tried Menu Modder but it says that the format is not compatible….and Menu Edit free doesn’t preview.
Any ideas??

Thx for the time.

For starters, SW:AOTC is an extremely complex DVD, so you might want to start with something simpler for practice. :)
Also, I never trust PowerDVD for DVD Structure integrity. Almost all software players are HUGELY forgiving.
What I trust 95% is Ifoedit's DVD Play.
If ifoedit plays DVDs, OK. If it doesn't, here's a simple workaround:
When this window pops up

ignore it, open the now minimized Ifoedit and click DVD Play again.
This second window will pop up,

click Yes, and DVD play (hopefully) will start.

Any tip for SW: AOTC?
I really want to have a backup, but I refuse to loose that much quality doing a full backup with shrink, but I want to keep the menus...they rock.

SWII:AOTC was a hot item on threads for a long time.
I did my backup a long long time ago.... 6th December 2002

And it was movie-only. If I was to do it today, I'd probably use only DVD2DVDR 1.81, as I do for extra special (and huge) DVDs.
Although it seems (and is) awfully long.... Man we got spoiled!!!

Or alternatively, for the whole thing, I'd use IC8.

If I had 2-3 days to throw away, I might use the Big Three method, though I doubt it. Plus I can't afford it, timewise.

I really want to keep the menus....but just the english ones.
I'll try the DoItFast4U method, but I don't know what will that end in.
What is the Big Three method??

Thx
