ok this is what i did

1. i used DVD Shrink 3.1 to burn a dvd to a dvd rom witch worked find it encoded it fine and burned it fine i used a dvd+R disk and when i put it in my sony dvd player it wont read the disk so i am redoing it trying a dvd-r disk

but what disk format is more acceptabel or could it be a problem with the copy right portection i dont know y it would not work any help on this would be great

Did you check out your dvd player at dvdrhelp to see if its plays copies? I have found sony to be the most picky with what it plays if it plays at all. But I have found that if I burn with burn at once - r may work. As far as the protection goes it gone once you rip the dvd. Good luck.

with PC-GUY on this one check dvdrhelp ...... Also if the -R format works then there is a pretty good chance that your sony will not play +R format at all

Do the instructions/box say its +R compatible !? some are and some are not !?

i dont know have to check its a older sony dvd player so it probly wont supprt dvd+r but then y would it read the dvd-R **** for a min or 2 then stop reading it

I would guess cheap media. I would say try a program like DVD Identififer and tell us who makes the DVD that you're burning.

the copeyed dvd will work on my ps2 but not my sony dvd

the ps2 prolly has a better newer lazer head that can read the copied disk

try better media as suggested such as RITEKs

they come highly recommended
