Help I Need To Know This ASAP

Hi Guy's

:) I need to know the best motherboard for all purposes.
It must be powerfull.
I want to know in both manufactures Intel & AMD.

Please Help

I need to build a new Machine :)

For Intel: Asus P4S800D-E Deluxe
Prescott ready, wifi, half the price of an 875i mobo with similar or slightly better performance. Only con is that it's quite picky on RAM modules to be used.
For AMD: Abit KV8 Max3- everything one can dream on a mobo- including advanced cooling which is badly needed for AMD64 systems. MSI K8D Master 3 is quite similar, and slightly more expensive.

How are the Asus SK8V & SKBN like.

Also I need to know the the expensive motherboads around.
Intels Expensive & AMD's expensive.

They must also have the best spec. About the ram most boards accept DDR400 in one dimm slot the boards must also be able to support PC3200 in all slots.

In my opinion Asus is better, with models for Intel you should have no problems with supporting PC3200 as for AMD models I´m not sure haven´t assembled an AMD system for a long time.

So which model is the best and expensive in the ASUS

This is due to games are coming more an more heavy power eater.
So i need the BEST and the expensive. Motherboard

The most expensive one is surely enough a multi-CPU server mobo, which won't do you any favours... Most expensive does not always mean best.
The one I mentioned above (Asus P4S800D-E Deluxe) is based on the new SiS 755TX chipset, supports up to 4 GB RAM (should be enough for any game...) :D , has SATA, SATA-RAID, IEE1394, plenty of USB-2 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, and up to date it's the only mobo (chipset) which can take the new breed of Intel CPU's (Pentium V or "Prescott") right out of the box with no modding at all. Intel's flagship (read: expensive) 875i chipset doesn't support Pentium V, and likely it never will.
All tests I've read on 755TX mobos don't indicate any stability or driver unreliability issues. If paying for that mobo approx. 100 $ seems too cheap to you, then I'm at a loss...

I don´t agree with that statement, Asus P4C800-E Deluxe supports right out of the box Prescott cpus unless you had one previous to the announcement of Prescott then the only thing needed to support it is a BIOS flash, P4C800 has all the features of P4S800D but comes with Intel chipset wich sometimes can be more reliable than any other when using Pentiums and if you pick the right model you´ll have Gigabit support righ in the chipset and not in an added chip that runs trough a pci bus. :)

BTW Prescott won´t be called "Pentium V", they´ll remain as PIV because Intel said that they tough it haven´t been made much improvement to the new cpu so that it can deserve a new name, we´ll have to wait for "Tejas" to see a Pentium V. ;)

Ok.. so far i'm confused.

Which manufacture is the best INTEL or AMD.
Guy's Which Motherboard should I get. I dont want to get and 2 weeks or something later a new Motherboard Releases.

This is the question of every pc user, answers change from one user to another, I personally always have used Intel even at times when had to admit that AMD had a better proc. right now you can get almost equal performance from any of them it is just a question of how much you want to spend: Intel PIV Extreme Edition seems to be above all but at that price I wouldn´t buy it, with the difference for a 2.8Ghz you´ll be able to buy a whole gig in Ram and still have enough cash for a good 3D card.

As for the mother Asus top of the line right now are the P4S800D-E Deluxe and P4C800-E Deluxe it all depends on wich chipset you like better, if being compatible with next generation hardware is stoping you then you´ll keep waiting forever everyday something new comes out in the market.

I know the technology is bloody always moving.

So the best manufacture is ASUS and the best MB at the moment is P4S800D or P4C800.

Are they the expensive MB.

@mojo8850 it's all well and good that your keen in getting a new mobo or system. (So What does the P4C800 have that the P4S800D dont have ETC ETC ETC).But you can find all this info your asking by taking a trip to the manufactures homepages... And do all the research you need..on the mobos.. dont you think?
PS and some sites give you an option to download the mobo handbook. ;)

If you go to Asus website at simple view you´ll find out that only difference is that P4C800 has Intel chipset but that means that SATA is nativelly supported by southbridge and translates in no need for additional drivers when installing XP/2K, there are some other slight differences but like Rastabt says you better take a look at the specs of the manufacturer see what you like most and then ask for opinion on that, don´t take for granted everything I say, there are several opinions out there that are worth to take in consideration. ;)

I know that but it's always best to get advise before purchasing
Yes thats true but if you would like to know as stated by yourself "So What does the P4C800 have that the P4S800D dont have." You can do this by going to their homepage and you can see for yourself the full info on the mobo...We all try to help each other best we can and theres mi thinking I'm helping you out.....
Any way hope you have made your choice on mobo's and I hope you build a kicking system best of luck.... :)
