help flaskmpeg/virtualdub!!!!!!

hi .....

Iam trying to convert vob files to divx using flask.... i am not able to see the divx codecs(low/fast motion, 4.12, 5pro) in codec window!!!!!(can see other than divx). I am able see the codecs in device manager(win2k pro) and saying working fine. But not able to see the same
in codec window of flask????...not even in virtualdub!!!!!

I hv reinstalled couple of times both codec and vd/flask... but no luck... tryed un-installing Divx 5pro... but NO!!!!

how about the quality of 5pro... is it worth using it or go back to 3.11/4.12 ?????

plz........how to fix this, any help apperciated

you should have a look at the tutorials section by ChickenMan or post there for help.
From the tuts though, it is better to make DivX with Vidomi.
So maybe you would like trying it instead.
On the other hand, if you want to make DivX with FlaskMPEG then make sure you have installed Fhg Radium MP3 codec. For a tutorial on that you can try this one:

You need to set in FlaskMPEG the Select Output >> to "OpenDML AVI Output", then hit Congure Output Module and select DivX codec.

I have not had to much luck with DivX 5 as of yet. I'm getting lines of pixelation, poor playback of know good 3.11 & 4.x DivX', etc, etc. I'm staying with 4.12 at the moment.

In fact, in select output, i check for AVI... check to select codec..yaaa in this window i dont see fast/low or 4.12/5pro

Tried in opendml avi also still when check to select codec.. no fast/low, 4.12 or 5pro... i see other codecs other than divx...

spent till 2 am sterday night... dont know what went wrong !!!
can u help me plz... yaa i see all 3.11,4.12 & 5pro in multimedia
under video codec.. says OK... iam using both lame/radium codec
thats not a issue..able set the setting!!!!

Read in flashmpeg help file, if codec are not installed properly, will face these problems... re-installed flaskmped/ndub... but Nooooooooooo

Okay, I would uninstall ALL the DivX codec. Re-boot and install just one to start with. I would suggest 3.11a. Then see if it available in Flask/VD.

If your going to start encoding movies, well you can only use one anyway! Playback is another issue.

Yaa... i hv un-installed all the codecs and installed only 3.11a... but no luck....

Is Divx ;-) Low motion/fast motion the 3.11 alpha???? and whats the other MS MPEG4 V1/v2/v3 ?????? are the both same ????...

BTW how do un-install????..theres no un-install... not i see in add/remove programs

Correct, the DivX Low motion & Fast Motion is part of 3.11a

The MPEG 4 v1/2/3 is the Microsoft original codec that DivX was revamped and patched from initially.

Remove 3.11 by deleting all files in Windows/Winnt folder that start with Div (or maybe safer to move them to a temp folder somewhere.

I would also try re-installing Windows. What version of Win are you using?

I am using win2k pro sp2....
Yes... i deleted all the files related to divx stuff(crossed checked
in divx.ini file for files and deleteing registry entries for the same).

Used nimo 4.4 installer, installed 3.11 and 4.12 only. But still
no luck!!!!. before all this prob started... i was able to see ms mpeg4 v1/v2... but not 4.12 and even encoded few clips successfully... Got confused with low/fast motion stuff by reading some guides. I uninstalled that M$... and then all this cranky probs pitched in.

Let me know is there any other way to get that stuff recognised... before i do the utimate(re-install win2k pro)

Okay sounds like all the codec is screwed as some vtail M$ stuff is missing. I would not normally suggest it but install the Krystal Codec, it has all DivX & MS codec in it and can help repair system ( but also destroy good working ones) I think you can get it at doom9's site, if not do a google search

Yes i checked on doom9 forum.... FAQ had a similar problem, should hv edit system.ini & add the codec names in driver32... but still no luck....

At last re-installed win2k pro,,.... used original release codecs...
yaaa... now i see all the codecs

( In h/w troubleshooting section: i hv posted a problem with yamaha 4x4x16... can u hlp)

BTW: where can i d/l divx movies????

Good to see its now all working, just a big job to get there.

As for DivX movies, sorry cant help as I'm on a 56k line ( bummer !!!) but every one tells me either Morphous or KaZaa are the places to get them from. Also try the NewsGroups.
