Help! DVD Burning problem!

I'm new to all this DVD burning stuff, having just purchased a Pioneer A06 last week. It came with Pinnacle Studio 8 SE software and Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD.

I think its the software I'm having trouble with, as I haven't got to actually burning yet! Is the software any good (particularly Pinnacle Expression), or is there better stuff I should get.

I have some home videos I'd like to burn at the moment, but having rendered them into DVD format using Studio 8, it seems I can't mix with other NTSC clips. Although sometimes Studio 8 renders into PAL and sometimes into NTSC...not sure whats going on here! Do the PAL/NTSC formats still apply on DVDs?

Also, Expression takes a painfully long time to render, say 4 to 5 hours for a 20min video... on a 1.6Ghz 512MB PC. Is this normal?

DVD burning problem

AS you rightly said it's not a burning problem as yet as you haven't managed to render all the video files. Studio 8 is very straight forward software and does a good job for home movies especially from DV cam footage. On the down side many users have problems with rendering in particular, your best bet is to go to the studio forum http://www.pinnaclesys.com/wwwsupport/Forums/uk/frameset.htm
