HELP!! converting NTSC to PAL

I've got MPEG2 file copies of svcd's and need an easy way to convert from NTSC to PAL so I can play on my dvd player???
At the moment, when I burn and play on my dvd, the movies are black and white because of NTSC!?
Is there a piece of software that can do this easily??
I've tried putting it through TMPGenc but it cant read the files.
Any help would be appreciated.

The problem is to do with your TV - not the films. Your TV is presumably PAL only - most newer ones in Europe are multi-standard - i.e. NTSC + PAL.
So next time you go TV shopping might be worth ensuring it can take an NTSC signal, or see if there is any way to set your TV to NTSC mode through any menus/options.

Or you can buy a Daewoo DVD player or Hitecker (US = Apex) that has a "P/N" button - that is PAL/NTSC. It forces the player to output to either TV system. My Daewoo 3000N is also patched for Region-Free DVD's.

Or use TMPGEnc (Tsunami) to transcode from NTSC to PAL.

Check in the Setup screens of your DVD Player for Output TV type or similar and set to PAL, not set to Auto or Multi or NTSC. Then it will playback fine. Some have a switch on the back rather than in the setup menu.

My dvd player (sony dsp-ns700v) doesnt have the option of outputing video only in PAL and my TV is probably older than I am! so doesnt allow NTSC input whcih makes it black+white!

TMPEGenc doesnt like my svcd mpg files for some reason, i've tried. Thanks for your suggestions anyway. The answer is to buy a new TV wen my student loan comes through!!!!!!

There is a pal color converter available for the playstation.
Dont know if u can get one for your dvd player?
I dont mean to change the game.
This is an external box to use ntsc games on a non-RGB tv.

SONY NS 700 isn´t able to do that ?! u should look out for this feature again ...cause even NS 300 (older one/cheaper one) is able to do it...watch out for a switch on the backside (ass chickenman said)
