Help....About USB Products....

Hi Guys

All I want to know is that, For example I have a external USB 20GB HDD...
and Windows XP SP1 automaticlly installs the drivers and says (THE HARDWARE IS READY TO USE) fair enough...

But my question is that If you disconnect the HARDWARE do the drivers stay on the computer or do they UNINSTALL automaticlly....

If they dont whats the method of Uninstalling them...

HELP....!

as far as i know all device drivers will stay on the system, for the case you attach the device again ....
when the device is not connected it will be either listed with a yellow exclamation mark in your device manager or it wont be visible.
in the first case you can delete the device there easily
in the second case you first need to make it visible by enabling "show hidden devices" in the view menu (i hope this menu item exists in winxp, i only use win2k) then you can delete it there too
forti

ps you'll see the whole driver mess then :) ... i got for example about 20 standard volumes (not sure about the english term), two mice and 6 monitors ...
be careful there ... dont delete too much ;)

Dammn... Forgot some thing...

Like you said in your description, Show Hidden Devices, Did that and brought up the NON PLUG AND PLAY DRIVERS...

Scrolled down and bumped in to a driver call SUTTLE SHARER it has an explanation mark on it....

What the hell is that...

Do you mean "shuttle sharer" bud? Did you upgrade this XP from Win9x? Shuttle sharer usually deals with a Printer/LPT/Parallel port device or CDRW drive. Could just be old or unused drivers. Did you try disabling the device to see if it had any effect?!

I havent diabled it yet, because all my drives, printers, ports, programs, working perfectly fine....

I didnt upgrade from win9x did a clean install to WINDOWS XP SP1...

I had a look at the web and searched for it on GOOGLE, on there it says its regards HP drivers, So I think its for my HP Scanner...

Hhhhhmmmm...........

Let you know when I have discovered it...
