Having problem with video freezing

I am using DVDXCOPY Platinum to make back up copy of my dvd. I can get it to burn but, when I play it back on my dvd player the movie freeze. Can anbody tell me what I'm doing wrong

Freezing on your DVD Player is typical of poor quality DVDR media. Try some different brands of media (Ritek are good), try burning at 2x instead of 4x.

Does the burnt dvdr play okay on the PC?

I am using Memorex dvd-r. I went out today and bought som tdk and I get the same result. It plays find on my computer's dvd player.

Hi m8.

Are you putting any labels on the disks, the 1st few that i did i put labels on them and the disks locked up / jerky, this seemed only to happen towards the last 20 mins or so of each disk, i havnt done anything different apart from not stick labels on the disks an d there fine now.

In my travels I have seen many issues with DvdXcopy.Platinum is buggy as hell.Some versions of DvdXcopy Express are known to have freezes regardless of media.

I suggest you try a demo first of these products.It works fine for some people,but problematic for others.In fact I recently tried DvdXcopy Express,sure enough,I had freezes!Made 6 coasters.They all seemed fine but froze on my standalone late in the movies.I was using the same media that works fine with my other software.

Please check your computer for the following software, as these programs can cause any number of problems when trying to copy your movies.
InterActual Player and PC Friendly - These programs are made by the movie industry to hinder copying.

InCD,Veritas Record Now, DLA, B's Clip, DirectCD (component of EasyCDCreator), InstantRead/InstantWrite - Packet Writers. These programs can interrupt the burn merely by being installed.

Spyware (example: Gator, NewDotNet, OfferCompanion) - These programs serve no good purpose.

I tried the demo version of DvdXcopy Express on two different computers.Neither contained the programs mentioned above.I had 3 coasters on each trying to backup the 6 dvd set of Band of Brothers.They seemed fine when played on my computer.

I usually use IC7 but decided to try Express because I thought it would be faster.

Why not just try DVDShrink, nothing to lose , it's free. Also try another burning proggy .... Nero for example.
Dont think much of the Memorex disks (CMC), but would assume the TDK's (normally Ritek) should have worked. so .... Have you just got an old or 'fussy' standalone ?

I downloaded dvd shrink and nero and burn a sucessful DVD that plays on my desktop dvd player but this time I used a Merorex dvd-rw. I just ordered some ritek dvd-r, have not received them yet. I will let you know how they work when I get them.
