half of last movie vob is not movie

I've noticed now that a lot of dvds seem to have an extra 30 minutes or so in the last vob. Usually it's related to the trailer or something, not the actual movie.

I am fairly good at making divx and troubleshooting divx problems but now i am looking into SVCD since i got my new dvd player.

My question is, using the Chickenman guides for DVD to SVCD, how do i remove or ignore the part of the last vob that i don't want?

When i did divx this was easy, i would work out the exact time of the film and trim it so i wasn't wasting bitrate on the last part of the film. How do i do this for SVCD stuff?

I have to say, Chickenmans guides are the easiest and most concise guides i've come across. It's the first guide i've tried where it went 100% right the first time! Except for the subtitles.

So thanks!

Glad to hear the Tuts are working for you.

When you rip the movie to HD with SmartRipper, select the particular Angle in the Program Chain, and do NOT ripe the whole DVD. Then you will ahve the movie ONLY and nothing else.

i shall try the angle chain thing.

i've rarely had this problem in the past but it's been occuring now. I never rip the whole dvd, just the sequential movie files and the ifo. it seems some films are adding things in the very last vob.

If u use smartripper u may find it stops half way through the last vob file, using the method described by CM.
This is when (as you require) the extra rubbish is not ripped.
