half finished back up dvd - help !?!?

ok guys i need help

i ripped and encoded a 2 cd dvd

something happened in the middle and my pc crashed before it finished.

so right now i have a

visualfile.avi - 1937792kb (the video only)
firsthalf.mp3 - 92977kb
secondhalf.mp3 - 107071kb

total size - 2137840kb

/ by 3 size - 712613.33kb

i want to first glue the 2 mp3s to make 1
and than add it to the avi
than cut the avi to 3 files

now can some one help me do the above, (what software i need etc.)

and after i do that will it fit into 3 700mgs cds ?????? (will it be 712613.33kb per file or will it be more???)

Well you have to cut on keyframes, so you may not be able to get exact 700MB chunks, also you might be forced to cut in the middle of a scene which is never good.

The other thing to consider is the AVI overhead, especially if the mp3 is VBR. So you can't just add the audio and video sizes together to get the final size.

I would suggest joining the mp3 using one of the numerous programs out there or just redo it from the AC3 in one piece to avoid any issues.

Then use VirtualDubMod to add the audio and split.

Ok i have glued the 2 mp3s, and i have the files below.

Video File - avi format - 1937792kb - 218:48mins
Sound (First Part) - mp3 format - 92977kb - 101:18mins
Sound (Second Part) - mp3 format - 107071kb - 117:29mins
Sound (Both) - mp3 format - 200047kb - 218:47mins

can u please instruct me how to glue this into the .avi and than cut it to 700mb peaces with virtualdubmod.

i saw some where in the help u had to convert to wav file first but i tried converthing the above mp3 to wav trw Easy CD-DA Extractor 6's Easy Audio File Converter but it said error every time it finished

No need to convert to wav. Just open up VDubMod, open the first AVI, append the second, goto the streams menu and add the mp3. Set the video to directstreaming.

Mark the start of the video as the selection start and then use the goto last keyframe function, enter 700MB's and mark that as the section end. Save out an AVI, which is hopefully ~700MB's, if not adjust the last keyframe. Mark the previous section end as the new section start and repeat...
