Any guitar players in this forum... and what guitars do you have and play.

I'm hitting the pro guitar stage now and I'm still using the strat style samick guitar but I have a spector NS2000B bass which set me back $475 and the amp which now has a nice big hole in it I inherited from my best friend.

I'm pretty proud of what I have done, never thought guitar was my thing and one thing... if you get bored with your guitar... buy some pedals, worked for me ;)

I used tab sites and learned from there dood... w*w.cyberfret.com is meant to be good, im too good for it though and knew all the stuff it tried to teach me! hehe, w*w.guitartabs.cc is the site i use most!

The good thing about fast slow hand is if you make a screw up you can patch it up or make it look deliberate

I play a Jackson Kelly Custom.

My rack includes ADA 200watt power amp, BBE Sonic Maximizer; Alesis Qudraverb; ADA-MP1; Furman Power Conditioner.

I run them through a Mesa Boogie Rectifier 4x12 cabinet.

Just kiddin'... I used to play a cheesy guitar many years ago, but it's not my main instrument. I do play trumpet (Yamaha) and alto saxophone (a Strasser Maribaux I bought in La Habana more than 15 years ago...)...
I started with trumpet 'cos I wanted to play just like Miles Davis, but later I decided that I needed to start playing like John Coltrane, and adopted the sax... So, Poko, with a bass player and DrummerBoy we have a combo...:D

Fender Strat

All within 2 days I got a raise, bonus and a promotion at my work... im a happy man and am now sitting on top of a grand!

Time to buy a real strat!

I've been told about a mexican 70's strat I can get for £750 and I think ill be getting that, Im also looking for a KB for my bass.

Hey guitar players, did you try the Amplitube plugin for cubase ?
It's the best amp+effects+... simulator IMHO, it rocks !!!

I've tried it in sound control (local music shop in glasgow) I was pretty impressed and I'm still interested in buying, can you get more effects for it?

Mhh no, I think there's no effects to add but you could simply run other plugins on the same channel in cubase..
Well I couldn't belive it when I first heard the sound..amazing :eek:

Likewise, ive been playing guitar for god knows how long and Ive seen a lot in my time but this is outstanding, wasnt it only bout £120 or something too?

I have used guitars valued at $30-$3000 all depends on what u like, at present i use yamaha sg, just like a les paul (i have owned 1 of these in the past). It all depends on your amps and stuff for good sound and of course speakers. jkat:cool: btw my favorite was a 'gibson sg professional' with single pole pickups through 'Hiwatt amps'.

I use Les Pauls (One Studio & One Standard -BirdsEye) exclusively right now....but not for long. Due to Mesa Boogie endorsements, my rig consists of a Mesa Boogie Tremoverb Dual Rectifier...1 Crybaby/Wah...1 Sabine/Tuner...1 Morley/Wah and thats it. I dont use complicated effects (weened myself away from them when I switched from rack-mount to Tube) anymore...accept in the studio....sometimes! Most people dont know how to properly use effects and they usually drown their sound in them. I can play all styles including Orchestra...thats only if I need to. I used 13 guage D'Addarios in standard tune. Some people might think its too much tension on the strings, or too hard to bend...but let me tell you...that after almost 6 years of playing this way, I can bend the sh*t out of these strings and acurately. I have been playing professionally for 15 years now. My band has one video on MTV right now called "Lets go all the way" a cover song from the '80's that us and ICP did together in CA. That was a fun day! =))) We are currently working on some new videos. I will post them before they hit MTV and let you all know. I was truly unaware that anyone in here was a guitar player but I guess thats my own ignorance. I am glad to know that there is now though...THNX people.

Aside from playing guitar....I can also sing...play drums...play keyboard/piano...& play bass. I guess this is all I can list. To protect my identity...I wont mention band names or websites to visit here. Sorry...If you are truly interested, email or PM me.

I'm a singer and can play just a bit (I'm better on the piano) so it's the guitar player who enjoys it.. he has a Les Paul + Vox, we both like the brit sound ;)
