got a problem

i've got dell latitude c800 laptop + winXP pro.
when i try to burn cds, the cd-rw drive (sony crx700e, latest firmware) starts burning, then just hangs forever. no error messages.
sometimes it burns ok, but 5 out of 1 it just stops after 5-85%% done.
i tried different software(nero, discjuggler, even native xp soft), still same shit.

any suggestions?

cheers

I had the same problem with my plextor drive. To fix it I did exaclty as you did and updated my firmware and changed burning software. Beyond that all you can do is ship in your laptop to the manufacturer to get it fixed.

i have a c800 1ghz too , so i know exactly what your problem is to fix this problem in xp you need to turn off the native burning service in xp this service is called
IMAPI CD-Burning COM Service and can be disabled in the services section of administrative tools , this will fix your problem dude , then go for nero 5.5.8.1 (8.2 still buggy even with the switcher)
