GordianKnot - Vidomi

Hello all,

Been a passive user of this forum for long. Here is my first post (I've read the message board rules, don't worry! :) ).

I started to read this area about DVD ripping and encoding not long ago, because I took ages to make the decision to buy a new computer (some weeks ago I was still using a PII 350 with a Riva TNT1 card).

Now, I tried FlaskMPEG (damn slow, not evolving anymore since a lot of time, but not dead).

Then I discovered GordianKnot. It took some time to read the tutoriam, but now I find it to be a really good suite of tools!

Chickenman, would you take the time to look at it? I think it deserves your attention. I will take some time to look at Vidomi on my side :)

The point is just that I would like your opinion. It has a bunch of features and parameters. Until now, I'm very satisfied about the results (using DivX 5.02)! And I'm a kind of maniac, you know! lol

Ok, you know where to find GordianKnot already :)

I personally don't like GKnot. It will probably be bigger in the future, but vidomi is working just fine as it is.
GKnot will be more for the use of Xvid files I think & OGM - Ogg Vorbis Media format.
As of now I don't see it as a big difference (only that it is open source) & majority of people are not using that still, but in the future (maybe 6months to 1year if not longer) it will prove itself worthy or not.
Like Elbow said "vidomi is the easiest to use and the fastest" & it produces excellent quality! I've attached a small sample I made from Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back (740 bitrate I think with divx 5.02):

PS
take note that I made it a little smaller & changed one of the settings from CM's tutorial (to make it smaller for better uploading), but otherwise I would follow his tut to the T & get better results than this sample I put up.
