Google my A** Off!

1) Go to www.Google.com.

2) Type in (but don't hit enter): "weapons of mass destruction".

3) Hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button instead of the normal "Google

search" button.

4) READ CAREFULLY what appears to be a normal ERROR message.

Make sure you read the whole error message. Someone at Google

apparently has a sense of humor.

Try this soon, before someone at Google fixes it! :D :D :D

Practical Googlebombing for beginners.....

FlashFXP

If you read the sorry tale at UltraFXP (link above), The owners of FlashFXP claim it infriges, got their Shareit account suspended, so it's now freeware.

The point of that bizarre link (saying FlashFXP) is that when google trawls this forum (it does) it will see the link, it will see the link word, and associate them.

If you check where "miserable failure" takes you in google (I'm feeling lucky), you'll see the phrase does NOT appear anywhere on the page - it's been used in links.

miserable failure - I'll reinforce that one as well

Forums (that are well googled, many are!), blogs, your own web pages (multiple subdomains are apparently VERY effective) - just make sure that the link text is something YOU would like to see take you there, even if they wouldn't.

Now go and make google mischief!

Since google themselves have frequently made mockeries of long-established search results for worthwhile sites, demoting them on a whim, I have no qualms about incitement to interfere, with there search results - aiming company names at their competition is good for a laugh, if you can get a successful googlebomb out of it.

NB. In general, only ONE entry from each site is likely to count - too many repeats and google may ignore them all.

lol that mass destruction one is already here JANIE :)

still funny though :)

@ LTR12101B EVERY SINGLE WORD on this very forum is trawled by google :)

you can find yourself in google ... well you would anyhow LTR12101B lol as yer a burner lol doh !! :)

but googling MY user name here i get a result of

Results 1 - 10 of about 2,880 for VIPER_1069. (0.37 seconds) not bad huh !?

janies comes back as Results 1 - 7 of about 136 for JanieDriver. (0.52 seconds) :)

you can also put in phone numbers in google and it will give addresses results :)

you can also track parcels with the package number with certain delivery companys :)

you can also google in klingon here or in backward wording here

or other whacky ways :)

its a VERY POWERFUL search engine if used correctly :)

check the advanced search options for more information :)

Did a google search using my real name and got this: Results 1 - 100 of about 5,340 English pages for Jane Callanan. (0.36 seconds)

Then tried just sticking in my maiden last name and got this!: Results 1 - 10 of about 22,500 for Lipsius. (0.37 seconds)

Too much reading!!!!!

If we're talking search engines, the meta's and cluster-searches are also worth a look.

www.dogpile.com - a meta-search that I use less than I used to - I often google instead, due the seamless ease of switching to a dejanews search if web is no use.

More interesting, are the clustering ones - multiple results combined and categorized.

I love Google if only for the fact that they apparently turned down $10 billion from
Bill for the jobby.
Google intend floating in the not to distant future & standby for some fighting with microsux cos bill is going to put there own version of a search engine in the final issue of Longhorn
