Saw this elsewhere today - have to wait and see if there's any truth to it...

"Pioneer states in an email to one big distributor in Europe that:

*Pioneer will give up the royalty fight about cheaper media
*Pioneer will release an updated firmware in January 2003 "

Looks good news that m8.Got the 105 and yep its damn picky on media.

Tried it with Choice 1x and it didnt even pick the media up.Pioneer has stated that it didnt support cheaper media buts has bowed to public pressure and will sort it out.

you should be able to use any media.
If the results are crap , then thats down to you.
Having firmware that blocks certain media is unacceptable, but that is what pioneer are doing.
Lets hope they change it soon.
