Good cd player (software)?

Hi there,

I've been using WinAmp2 and WinAmp3 for a long time now.
Until now satisfactory but WinAmp3 begins to irritate me.
I want to use DFX and that's not possible with WinAmp3
(for now that is).

I'm now looking for a (free) cd player.
No big thing. App must play mp3 or wav files.
Sure I found some many cd players on the net.
But has someone good experience with a certain app?
Care to share with us?

Personally I have found Winamp version 3 a BIG dissapointment. It's still quite buggy despite months of development and its a bit of a memory hog.

However, I can heartilly recommend going back to Winamp...specifically version 2.81. Funny Nullsoft is still updating the proggie and now calling it "classic winamp." In fact ver 2.81 just recieved some good code updates (based on some of the better parts of Winamp 3 code).

For playing CD's pick up the CD Reader 1.95 plugin (you'll need ASPI for it to work properly though). You can pick up the plug at classic winamp.com _http://classic.winamp.com/ OR even better _http://www.url.ru/~copah/ the author's homepage he's even got a beta version 2 of this fine proggie (that works great BTW). ;)

A free software (and really good !) here :

But it won't use DFX software...

Btw, any player soft available, that supports CD Text?
would be great, as I don't like the net based cd databases too much...
