good alternative 2 windoz explorer

hi guys
anyone knows a good graphical & handy alternative 2 windoz explorer? there was GXexplorer once mentionned here,but it seems the project is dead..came across another file manager more or less similar 2 gxexplorer,but shareware(don't remember the name)...total commander...errr have a sluggish interface(sorry 2 offence the admirers of this great proggie)....had a try @ powerdesk pro 4,somehow it throws me some visual c++ error msgs & crashed....
so anyone can recommend me something ?freeware as far as possible?

Servant Salamander is also very nice: a bit more accommodating that the luddite total commander and more stable than powerdesk.

Though I'm not sure if it acquired any adware/spyware in it's last incarnation - no, that wasn't the aggro I recalled - it was the undocumented expiring of the somewhat better 1.6 beta, leaving only the 1.52 freeware.

The alt.comp.freeware mob react badly to undocumented expiry!
