Giga-byte board boot problems

I had a GA-7VA board, which will turn off about 2 seconds after you turn it on. It has an AMD AThlon XP2700+ chip in it. Anyway, I took it back and the guy said it had a short in it, so I got another board. This time they sent me the GA-7VA 2.0, but unfortunatly it does the same thing. I turns on, then 2 seconds later it shuts down. Anyone know why?

Any POST beeps?
How much rpm runs your CPU heat sink fan? Maybe to slow for the board?
(check the GIGA-Byte manual and FAQ for the required rpm minimum)

No post beeps, I'm pretty sure the fan has the required RPMs. I tried w/ the standard AMD fan too and it still doesnt work

Had something similar, and it turned out to be the power button on the case, try disconnecting the power switch lead of the motherboard.You can fire up the pc by shorting out the connection..

Thanks for the tips, yea, I got a 400W Skyhauk Power supply...I messed around with it a bit, swapped the heatsink with a different one, and moved the RAM stick around...and I got it stay on now! The only problem now is it will not recognize the video card! Anymore ideas? It will turn on, and beep every couple seconds, each time a different beep! But the video wont work for anything :( Please help !

Do the video card need external supply of power, if so is it connected?
Does it have active cooling, if so does the fan move?
Also is the card properly seated?
:)

Is the tail end of the card fully inserted - and if it will not locate pproperly, it may be the wrong voltage key.

Pictures at the bottom, this applies to ALL cards, not just ATI - and fitting the slot is not always enough, though that should not be an issue with recent motherboards, as a 1.5v compliance implies AGP 2.0 support.

Check Giga-Byte's HP, FAQ and support hotline, if the board supports your AGP card;
also try to start the PC with only 1 (rotating) RAM stick, no HDDs, no ATAPI, no PCI and no USB devices;
