GeForce 4 Ti4200

Hi,

I'm planning to buy GeForce 4 Ti4200 and I'm wondering if the ALBATRON GeForce 4 TI4200P ($160) is any good? Or should I go w/ a more popular companies? Should I go for card that has add-ons like "dvi, crt, and tv out"?

Thank You.

Although I have read some good stuff about Albatron Mobo's, I don't think they have proven themselves with Vid cards.

The best GeForce 4200 card out there right now is considered to be the Leadtek WinFast A250 LE 64mb Ti 4200. Leadtek for a long time now has been making quality Vid cards. This $180 USD card with overclocking is almost as fast as its big brother the $400 Ti 4600.

Now if I can only find those reviews for you...

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't so sure of Albatron either for obvious reasons. The only things that influenced me is the cheap price that the retailer had posted. Anyways, I'd better go w/ a popular vendor.

If you're in the US, a good place to go shopping for PC parts is

h**p://www.pricewatch.com

They list products by cheapest price (including shipping) first... Today's lowest price for a Leadtek WinFast A250 LE 64mb Ti 4200 is $145.00 (at w*w.newegg.com) The absolute cheapest card on pricewatch is $135.00.

I've bought stuff from newegg, and they ship really fast, even with their free shipping.

Yes, $180.00 USD is current retail price. I usually only list retail because online prices vary from retailer to retailer.

But yes Vader011 is right...buying online is the cheapest way to go. Just be sure to check the retailer's rating, because the cheapest retailers are not always the best. Especially important is to check out their policies...most importantly return policy. Some retailers are a big pain in the arse if you have to make a return...even if it is damaged.

Also be carefull of OEM products as the retailer often holds the warranty from the manufacturer, NOT you. This may not be bad, but just make sure to ask what it is. Usually OEM products have less warranty though. Also, OEM's usually are just the item and an install disk...nothing else. Cables, mounting hardware, and extras are something you have to purchase separately.

Newegg is a good retailer though. They are a good place to start.
BTW, the $145.00 mentioned (at newegg), IS an OEM.
