GBA Successor Planned? (Adrenaline Avault)

RTE Interactive reports rumors that Nintendo is already working on the successor to Game Boy Advance. Insiders at the Japanese company have indicated plans to release a 64-bit handheld platform loosely based on the Nintendo 64 architecture. It's believed the system would incorporate a backlit screen - although specifics regarding the platform remain undisclosed. The buzz also suggests that the new system would have improved power consumption over Game Boy Advance.

Nintendo is finally getting smart by back lighting the new GBA. With all the different lights that are sold for the handheld it's about time.

yeah, and adding the 2 extra (x&y) buttons is a good idea too, but the backlight and extra buttons are due on the gba2 (along with an expected faster processor & backwards compatability) sometime early next year.

this n64 in your hand sounds cool but i'd imagine it wont be seen in public till 2004 at least
