 HI-SPEED DOUBLE FROM FREECOM

Delft, April 2002. The new Hi-Speed burners from Freecom write CD-Rs at 40X speed and rewrite CD-RWs at 12X speed. With the ultra-fast CD-burners, it is now possible to create a complete CD of 80 minutes length (700 MB) in just 2 minutes. In addition, these ultimate devices for the power user have a 40X reading speed. The burner is available both in an internal version for PC as well as in an external version for PC and Mac. In both cases, the in-built Buffer Underrun Prevention Technology ensures even more safety when writing and rewriting CDs - scorched CDs will now be a thing of the past. The new Freecom drives facilitate fast and problem-free saving of data, saving presentations to CD or generating professional multimedia-CDs. The simple installation and operation make the 40x12x40 the optimal drives for both, the professional user as well as for the demanding home user.

Makes good readin;)

Who makes them?

Hi pal
Do you know who makes that freecom drive?
All the freecom drives I've seen have been rebadged.
I bought a 24x about a month a go and it was a mitsumi.
It was actually £10 cheaper to just buy the mitsumi. OOPS.
I looked on their (freecom) support page and their were a lot of pissed of people not getting much help.
Maybe better to buy the original burner (rebadgers are never a good idea) if it is rebadged and get proper support from a proper manufacturer.
Interesting post though!:)

 Sorry bro no idea at moment but like you say Buy de original brands if you can. But don't knock de rebadged stuff cos there R some good ones out there!!!
