FrameRate

Hi!

I´m new to converting and burning to DVDR.
Yesterday i used Chickenman's tutorial to convert a avi file to dvd and
all went fairly well until the authoring step with TMPGEnc DVD Author.
When adding the encoded video file the author showed an error message stating that the frame rate 23.xxx was not a valid framerate for DVD and
could'nt continue.

The frame rate had'nt been converted from the original avi file though a
had followed the tutorial.

What had happend and why?

How can i get the framerate right eg 25 or 29.xxx?

That framerate 23xx is NTSC but DVD only accepts 29xx (NTSC) U need to use Pulldown to convert the frame rate!

Check in DVD2SVCD that in the Pulldown tab that it pionts to pulldown.exe DVD@SVCD should just automatically do the conversion for you, you normally need no input. But you can do it manually. copy the PULLDOWN.EXE to your working folder, then from DOS box, type in

pulldown Encoded_Video_CCE_NTSC.mpv Pulldown_Encoded_Video_NTSC.mpv and hit Enter

Then run DVD2SVCD, click on Misc tab, click Recover button, select DVD Author and then hit the Continue button.
