Flash your Lite-On 24103S/32123S to a 40125S

Yeap it's been done you can pick up de link from w*w.cdfreaks.com/news2.php3?ID=4777 wit all details.
Makes a very dam good read, now to look for a 24x:rolleyes:

Wow! that goes against ALL that was known before!

The S/W did not seem to be the issue - other than at the fulcrum point of:

32123S - a 32x writer using the "3" chipset
32125W - a 32x writer using the faster "5" chipset

The 24103S to 32123S was a previous "YES" since the 24103S had the 32x-capable "3" chipset *** this does NOT hold good for the 01B/02B models, unless you actually KNOW they will take overclocking.

Getting 40x out of a "3" series chipset is pushing it VERY hard, since that is beyond the original top-end use of that chipset!

Hi i have download the files for my LTR-32123S but i don understand the Flasher... I type mtkflash <3> <W:> [/b] xsu1.bin

But the flasher says file not found...what i make wrong... Can someone explaine me the whole way to flash my CDR...
Please type the correct way what i must type under dos

Try like dis bro.
When your ready to flash the firmware you must copy mtkflash and the firmware (bin) on a disk. you don't need a MS-DOS Bootdisk. Try dat way and see how you get on.;)

but how i could do that??? while i cant run the program under windows xp... so i must use a bootdisk... but if i have the command what i have to do?? what must i type?? The cdr dont flash automaticly... To say put the two files on a disk is easy but dont say what we do then is much easier... so please told what i must do to flash my cdr undr windows xp... or under dos with bootdisk....thx

Your entry is incorrect. It must be exact in order to flash or you may end up wit a dead drive.

This must be done in a PURE DOS mode with no drivers loaded. Personally I prefer to use the DrDOS 7.X Boot Disk from _http://www.polarhome.com/service/bootdisk/DOS/Dr-DOS/drdos703.exe since it guarantees no drivers are loaded.

REMOVE ALL MEDIA BEFORE FLASHING THE DRIVE!!!

MTKFLASH X W /B XSU1.bin
Note the spaces between the letters after MTKFLASH.

Where "x" is a number from 1 to 4:

1: Primary master
2: Primary slave
3: Secondary master
4: Secondary slave

W is to write a firmware to the flashrom.
/B is to tell the program that the input file is a binary file.
XSU1.bin is your firmware.

This will again take some time, do not reboot, switch power off or something while the flash is in progress. Note that it's counting from 0% to 100% several times!

The "5W" has been possible for a long time
Dig in to the forums at CDFREAKS, or the overclocking at w^w.cdrinfo.com

To 40x, and even 48

Glad it worked for you. Run some tests for media compaibility with the media you normally use and use the Scandisk tool in Nero CD Speed to check the burn quality. No sense burning fast if it generates errors.
