Firmware Reversal

A bad flash can permanently render a device useless, i assume the device does not report under the os. What kind of device is it that u flashed (make & model) most bad flashes are reversible under dos w/ the proper binaries.

U need a flasher program & the .bin binaries for your specific model. Is as simple as booting from a dos boot disk & running the flasher to execute the binary.

Make and model

It is a plextor 121032TA running xp, no dos, can you explain in laymans terms how to go about it, appreciate your interest.

Please make it clear and simple for an idiot to follow

1) ok, i uploaded sometime ago a win98 bootdisk, u'll need this.

2) a firmware upgrade can be as simple as "flasher.exe binary.bin" if this depends if it can be performed under dos. Some programs might require specific parameter such as a device # for a proper flash.
This might vary from brand to brand, is not that dificult. Be sure to read the accompained readme file. You Do not need any previous experience at DOS to do this.
