firewire with Plextor W2410A ?

hi,
have anyone experince with a extern firewire casing with Oxford 911 Chips?
My Problem: My plextor are not registered in Win XP.
The firewire case are ok, my Thoshiba DVD player are
registered.
Sory my english are not so good, I´m from Germany.
