Firewall for xp

I'm currently using windows 98 and use zone alarm as my firewall
which I like cause it just tells you what programs are trying to access the
internet and doesn't talk about packets and stuff of which I havent
a clue,

I want to install XP but heard that ZA doesn't work to well with it,
can anyone recommend me a firewall that works
well with XP and will just tell me the programs trying to access the net

Zone Alarm

I use Zone Alarm on both of my computers which has XP Home on them and I haven`t noticed any problems.

ZoneAlarm works just fine with ZP. Here's a large list of firewalls, commercial, shareware, and free:

Hi

I dont know who is saying that to you About Zonealarm not working well with Windows XP...

Well I have Windows XP Sp1 Inegrated, All The Window Updates, Except For the CRAPPY Ones like movie maker etc.. All The Critics..

Also I have ZONEALARM 4.0 I have had it installed since Ive had XP and Thats over a 1yr now and didnt have to format it once...

The Compatability XP has with ZONEALARM Is Extremely Smooth...

The Choice Is Yours :D :D :D :D

The thing about zone alarm not being good for XP was
something I read on these forums a while ago (cant remember exactly
which one)

But since your all saying its ok, and the fact that I
like it ,I will continue to use it

thanx for the replies

ZA should not be worse under XP than it is under other OS'es... it's only problem is being a less than average firewall overall- if you don't mind about that fact, keep on using it.

XP firewall if you can call it that is very basic and doesn't control both incoming and outgoing progams, so it leaves a lot to be desired. (See how I said that without yelling)

As far as ZoneAlarm and XP, there are no compatibility problems whatsoever.

The Professional version of ZoneAlarm however, is far better than the standard one. Agnitum, Sygate and Norton are very good also.
