this works bar the stutters (the film and sound stutters) it say 808 packets buffer underflow? or is the svcd now vcd stuttering coz i used nero to burn it to disc at x2 speed.
if so wot other good burning software for vcd is ther please!

or is there something on TMPGEnc ia can adjust to sort the stuttering out

apart from that this is a quick and easy way to convert svcd to vcd and fool ya home dvd players

here hopeing :) :)

Use m1edit or m2edit.
Choose tools and repacketsize(in m2edit its called transcode).
Choose vcd and run.
If u search this forum u should find a link for the program.;)

thanks

thanks daveml

so this will do svcd to vcd all in one go and then i can burn it to disc and play on me home dvd player yes??

also do u know of any other good burning software for burning the vcd onto disc please as im new to this :D :D

No. This is to stop the stuttering. (hopefully). You repacketsize the mpeg file before u burn your VCD.
If u want a good method for SVCD to VCD then do a search on the forum. There r a few good threads on the subject.
Nero is excellent for making and burning a compliant VCD but its not very good for encoding.

I seem to remember having this conversation already.
I can only repeat my advice.
Rip mpeg file to harddrive
Process with DVD2AVI
Encode with tempegenc
Repacketsize with m1edit/m2edit
Burn with nero.

Good luck.

that dave always on about his PACKET size !? hmmmmmm lol @ dave :p hehehehe

but anyhow listen to this daveml guy he knows his vcd stuff :D

also could ask chickenman here to help as hes a resident vcd guru too :D

thanks daveml

dont get me wrong i understand wot your saying, but dont want to be messing about with 2 or 3 progies to do it :D as TMPGEnc or wot ever it is will do it a 700 mg svcd to vcd in 20 mins ;)

just wanted to know if there was a setting u can alter in the TMPGEnc to stop the packet under buffer and the pic and sound stutter
as im on me second box of disc's lol

if not sod will try your way :p

Every vcd(mpeg) I create with tempegenc I repacketsize with m2edit before burning.
If u dont do this u may get speeding up or stuttering especially at the beginning of a disc. Only certain DVD players do this but to increase compatability its worth doing.
It is a pain to use a lot of progs for 1 job (I use 5 to get a DVD into a VCD) but if u want quality thats the price to pay.
Someone else may know a quicker/easier way with reduced quality.
I think that you only do a vcd once so do it the best possible way.
Not everyone agrees!:)

daveml has it spot on (I've taught him well ! LOL), M2-edit can help with "fixing" many DVD Player playback problems. I have been using it for over 12 months now for perfect DVD playback.

I hope your not converting an NTSC to PAL or vice versa? If you are, then it will ALWAYS be jerky. Never convert to another form unless you like jerky /stuttering movies.
