Hi Bro!!If both Hd's are ntfs,or fat 32,it won't be a problem.

For instance find the folder you want to send to other hd,eg. My documents.You can right click on the folder(without opening it).Then use the send to option>drive D(or whatever).You can also use the >copy to method.Once they are successfully copied you can delete them from the original drive.:)

Alternately you can use the edit option in the tool bar for more folders.Just use select all,and send to>or use copy and paste to the new directory.;)
 
If it is your boot/system ( C: ) drive, you can use DriveImage or some such thing. You can also use Maxtor's drive utility diskette (probably can download from their site for free).
 
ok woody and dave thanks but i also want to put xp on it and then delete it from my other drive,i no i can move files now thanks.you see the new 1 is bigger gb so i want to use it as a master but rite now i have it as a slave if i can put xp on it and then transfer the files i can format the old drive for other stuff?
