File Size too Big for DVD-r

Got a problem - I am using version 8 of Instant Copy and it ahs worked fine so far with all my other dvds. Basically when I am trying to make a copy of this one DVD which is about 7GB it always ending up with a size that is too big for a blank DVD - even though in the settings it is under 4.31Gb (green bar status)

I have done this twice - the second time with it well under the limit. - what gives?

I know there was a problem with version 7 but this I thought was fixed properly in version 8 - and so far with all my other DVD it is fine.

All I have done for this DVD is bring hte extras to about 45% and the movie to about 65% compression and delted extra languages - a simple operation.

Had to drop it to little under 4GB to get a file that JUST fitted a dvd disc - What is the go with that?

Hi Guys!

InstantCopy 8 has a better size prediction then IC7 but it still has its flaws where mispredictions in both directions (over- & undersizing) occur. This is highly depending on the DVDs content and what you keep and remove.

The IC8 engine is still to be improved by pinnacle in one of the next updates.
so for the moment, there is nothing you can do but try & error when you encounter such a problem.

Sorry for the bad news, but thats just the way it is at the moment!

Though the good news is, Pinnacle is aware of this problem, and still developing an improved analasys routine.

Just to cheer up the mood a little
