File size copying problem

Hi all

I still have this problem with file size copying from burnt discs (DVD-R)
I have tried 98SE & XP pro but they wont copy from disc to Hard drive seemingly if the file (MPEG) is over 1 GB or so, XP says cyclic redunduncy error & 98 SE says parameter error any ideas?

how exactly are you trying to get the dvd to hard disk !?

you need to rip the dvd to hard disk with DVD DECRYPTER as VOB files not MPGS it sounds to me like you are trying to copy them to disk with windows explorer !?

Backed up MPEGs

I backed up some movies (home movies not ripped) as MPEGs onto a DVD-R then the problem happens when I drag them back (explorer) onto the HDD to do more work etc?

If I rip from a DVD (VOB etc) it seems ok but most are in single files not much more than a GB where the home movies maybe 2-3 GB in size.

Most encoding/authoring programmes split Vobs into 1 gb files <> they can be joined together.

or if ripping with DECRYPYTER untick the box where it says split the files into 1gb parts
