fast audio

i had some mpg file about six of them that nero said were not compliant with (s) vcd standard i went ahead and burnt it anyway to a cdr now i play it and on my lasonic dvd 1100 it has a 7.3 vote on vcdhelp site anyways the audio is fast lol real fast for all files. i went ahead converted one file to a valid vcd standard using tmpgenc it was 141mb ended up 307mb so i burnt it unto a cdrw play it again & not only is the audio still fast but the picture is distorted. btw i have another standalone dvd player apex ad-500 and the first cd with all the files nero said were not standard work just fine no fast audio just normal.. another key note is that when i finished converting the 141mb file to 307mb nero still said this file was not standard.. what's the problem here.

problem is in how you are encoding it. If you encode with tmpgenc properly, you will not get that error message with Nero.

This is what I suspect the problem is:
when you are cutting the mpg files (into 2 parts) you do not have the proper type selected "MPEG-1 Video CD"

nero still says its not vcd standard and i did it the way you said. i need something that will show me the mpg properties right clicking on it gives me nothing.

you followed the tutorials by ChickenMan?
'cause you should be using a template for your TMPGEnc conversions, then only after encoding with tmpgenc do you cut them.

Am guessing that maybe you are not encoding with tmpenc or not following the tuts?

Can you explain what exactly you are doing to encode and from what file format? (DVD rip or what?)

its not a big file its just 141 MB (Format mpg ) which i tried to burn as a vcd but nero would not accept it as being compliant so inserted the file into tmpgenc chose the VideoCD (NTSC).mcf template hit start it came out 307mb i then tried to burn the 307mb file & nero again rejected it. its just a file i downloaded from a newsgroup.

the file properties

video codec: MPEG Video Decoder
Audio codec: Morgan Stream Switcher
Bit Rate: Unknown

If you loaded the 141meg mpg file into TMPGEnc for both Video and Audio source selected the NTSC Template, and encoded, the file WILL be accepted by Nero as a compliant VCD.

Pleace load the 141meg AVI into VirtualDUB, go to File Properties and post what it says.

Also, please do the same for the 307meg encoded file.

I just looked at the attchments to your first post and clearly indicates you have not loaded in any template in TMPGenc as the audio has been unchanged nor the Video in VCD format.

ok i attached a pic of the info i received from virtual dub under file>file information. you will notice the second pic is now 153mpg that's because i had deleted the 307mb mpg file before i read you post chickenman *ooops. the 153mb file comes from the original 141mb file. since nero would not accept the 307mb i had encoded i decided to go into tmpgenc > file > mpg tools > merge/ cut i loaded the 141mpg file and i entered where it should begin & end i made sure the type was mpeg-1 video-cd and hit run nero once again rejected it..

yes you can't merge and cut using the mpeg-1 VCD standard file in tmpgenc unless it is already an mpeg-1VCD standard file.
Looking at the pic your file isn't standard. The average bitrate is incorrect. Same with the audio track.
So you must convert it to a standard mpeg-1 vcd compliant one.
Your bitrate is 550Kbps when it should be about 1500Kbps. Audio should be 44KHz (mono/stereo) & 128Kbps layer II (like in the attached gif).
Try first for both video and audio source in tmpgenc for the conversion, otherwise try to extract the audio within VirtualDub (just use "Save WAV...") and then when you load the movie in tmpgenc, select the audio wav you just made as your audio source. Then select Load and use appropiate template (in this case "VideoCD (NTSC).mcf"). Then start the encoding process and once done you should have a compliant VCD mpg that Nero will accept.

Otherwise I am at a loss to what you can do lol.

yes it can be chickenhq.
Always harder on our ends, since we don't have the actual files to figure out, but CM is the master/mentor and 99.99999999% of the time can get people to find the right solution (I'm in the 50% range lol).

Hopefully this last trick will help you out, otherwise wait for the "master" to give you a working solution (though if it were me, after a few tries I would junk it lol).

Looked at the VD data, the size & frame rate are standard NTSC size but the Data rate and Audio are way to low and not VCD standard.

In TMPGEnc, load the 141meg file into Video Source, load it also into Audio Source. Then hit the LOAD button and brows to your TMPGENC\Templates folder and load in the VideoCD (NTSC).mcf template. Then hit Settings button and in the Video Tab, change Motion Serach to read Highest Quality (Very Slow). OK out and hit Start button. You WILL then have a VCD compliant mpg file. If you dont load the *.mcf file in, you will NOT make a compliant VCD, its as simple as that.
