F-secure 5.31

I've just d/l f-secure 5.31 and tried to install on Win XP build 2600. It gets about half way then gives a blue screen, dumps the memory to hd the resets the pc. Then every time I reboot it does the same. I have tried installing with and without s/n but get the same result. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

how did you guess? any ideas how to completely get rid of norton. I've uninstalled it. Anything floating about in the registry?
