F-Prot Antivirus for Windows released v3.15

30 June 2004

RISK Software announces the release of a new version of one of the world’s most popular and powerful antivirus products, F-Prot Antivirus for Windows. With version 3.15, F-Prot Antivirus for Windows takes advantage of the added features introduced by Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), to be released by Microsoft later this summer. In preparation for this release, FRISK Software has worked in close cooperation with Microsoft to provide smooth and seamless interaction with Windows XP SP2 and the new Security Center.

One of the most important new features introduced by version 3.15 of F-Prot Antivirus for Windows is an online update checking facility. The program can now automatically check for new available virus signature files at regular intervals, whenever the system is online. Also, with the program’s update status displayed conspicuously on the program’s startup, users can now see at a glance whether new virus signature files need to be downloaded. As a result, it is now considerably easier for users to ensure that their systems constantly remain as secure as possible against all new and emerging threats.

The reliable, high-quality data protection for which F-Prot Antivirus for Windows has become so well known is both continued and strengthened with the release of version 3.15. The product's consistently positive reputation is grounded on a combination of a number of factors. Not least of these is the world-renowned antivirus engine at its core, the user-friendly interface and the fact that the program is extremely light on system resources. These are features that our customers have come to both appreciate and expect from our products through over 10 years of antivirus research and development at FRISK Software.

We recommend that users of F-Prot Antivirus for Windows update their programs to version 3.15 by visiting our update center.
