Extract Pictures from Picture VCD

I have a picture VCD and I would like to take some print outs of the pictures. How can I extract the pictures from a picture VCD??

Thanks guys

If the (S) VCd was burned with Nero and the option "Store Source pictures in" was checked then open the (S) VCD and look for the "PICTURES" directory! There are all the pictures, copy them to the folder you want1

.dat file

There ain't no pictures directory. There is a file having an extension of .dat . This .dat file is the slide show. What program can I use to extract these pictures for printouts. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

like ipdave says, because in order for a vcd player to read mpeg1 files, it categorizes it to dat for its reading. But extracting the dat file off the CD with just a copy & paste method to your HDD isn't the best way to do it (often have seen some bad lines through mpeg after).
Use vcd gear to extract instead (you will get a cleaner extraction).
Or
can probs use iso buster too

then rename that dat file to mpg.

Which MPEG Editor

Okay. Used VCD Gear, extracted the .dat file and then renamed to .MPG. Now what?? Which MPEG Editor should I use to extract the stills???

Thanks in advance guys!!!!

Tmpeg \ Browse to add the mpeg file \ File \ Add Current Projeck to batch file \ Sequence BMP/PPM/TGA/JPG file \ give the output folder \ Run.......

Denexo, that's because you wanted to encode with a renamed file. You cannot do that, but you can rename a file "sometimes" to extract something from it (or repackage & correct/fix it).

Still it is not the method I would use. I would just play it with some player that allows for you to take snap shots, but I know that's not what freakyboy wants.

Sorry guys....... was outta town and very busy :D .
Did what Denexo suggested and worked great. The only problem was that a 2 minute slide show extracted about 1900 pictures!!!! That was really annoying, but I got the pictures, anyway. I did it like this:

1. VCD Gear and extracted the .dat to .mpg (didn't have to rename.)
2. Opened TMPEG, browsed and added the MPG file. Selected the Sequence BMP/PPM/TGA/JPG option...... and Voila!!!!!

But be prepared for lots of useless pictures.

Thanks guys for your response and sorry for the delay.

Yes it is very annoying, I did it on a 5 min. video clip and I took about 250.000 pictures. But the good is that you can use these pictures editing them and make an animated gif or something you want!
