Excel problem

I just rebooted to discover my excel document will not open. It is saying that it is "locked for editing."

I can use the "notify" button to open a read only copy of the document but this will give a "not enough memory" warning....illegall operation and will close.

I've lost all the information.

Can anyone help?

What version of Ecxel are you running? Are you able to "Save As"

I'm using Excel 2000 v9.0.2720 part of the office 2000 premium package.

Normally I can "Save as" but I'm unable to open and view this damaged document.

If you are able to upgrade to Office XP, it has fantastic Excel file recovery, that was the only reason I ever upgraded.

Thanks for the information, I think I will do that. I've lost 2-3 Excel documents before and I'm designing part of my website with excel - so it would be a wise move.
