Everything about Windows media player

No problem bud!Looks like WMP 9 is buggy as hell(glad I didn't upgrade). The Roxio plugin also looks like it can cause major problems with cdr/dvdr drives.

Nice site. Unfortunately it did not answer the one question I have about WMP9. Everytime I stick a blank CD-R in my burner Media Player 9 starts up. How do I stop that?

I think it installs a Roxio Plugin. There was a fix for it in that article.Think that is your problem.I'm sticking with 6.4.

did you try turning the auto insert notification off for that drive. Control Panel/System/cdroms/(your drive)/settings/auto insert notification (uncheck it)
worth a try!!!

I did see something where WMP 9 automatically installs a Roxio burning plugin. There was a fix somewhere in the article.

Heres the info woody :)

Q: How do I block WMP from ever installing the Adaptec CD-Burning Plug-in?
A: Run this reg file, and only install WMP7.1 or later. WMP7.0 will ignore the flag that this registry file sets. Note that this will permanently block WMP's installation of the Adaptec CD-Burning Plug-in, but if you're having problems with it, this is probably the right thing to do.

It from the section titled Q: How do I uninstall the Adaptec plug-in?

I used it the last time i tried 9series & it works, it blocks the plugin from ever being installed :)
