error message??..

when i hook up another hard drive in my secondary i get an error message saying....

Non-System disk or disk error
replace and strike any key when ready

my primary works fine....i dont know whats wrong with my secondary....

have you still got S.M.A.R.T. ENABLED in bios you could try disabling this as you have added new hardware (a new drive) .. you could also check bios that the drive is set as LBA and not CHS or large


has the disk been FDISK'ed and formatted to the cluster type your main drive is !?

ie. is it the same both FAT 32 or both NTFS !?

they are both NTFS....how do i go enable and disable my smart thing in my bios??..how do i check my bios if its set to LBA??..

The default XP manager can boot only OS'es from the first harddisk.
For booting OS'es from other partitions, you want third party stuff. Some suggestions:

ok now none of my hard drives work....it says the same message its giving me....i dont know why its not reading none of my hard drives....ive tried to reboot it with my xp cd....but it just says that it doesnt detect a hard drive or something....and that its not plugged in properly or something....then i have to press F3 to quit the setup....can it be that my power supply is messed up??..
