Gday all
In need of some of your brain cells here people!
Starting to go bald here and I had a full head of hair this morning…
All was working well yesterday.
Problem is:
Both optical drives are giving me the “X:\ is not accessible. Access is denied” message, with a data, music or dvd video disc. Windows media player runs when I try to open a data cd disc in the DVDRW drive.
Spent long hours trawling the net without a result.
Have;
BTC DVDRW1004 on primary master
LG CRD 8322B on secondary master
Both appear in Explorer and are reported to be working in device manager.
OK lets cover what I have and what I have checked…
1. IMAPI disabled
2. Auto insert disabled
3. Drives appear in explorer and icons show the disc name ie; OEXPVOL_EN (E:\)
4. Have changed IDE bus drivers to M$ ones (were intel) – no change so went back to intel drivers
5. Nero burnrights installed – set to Nero group – all power users and administrator also in nero group
6. NO INCD ON SYSTEM!
7. System has never had any other burning software installed
8. Local security settings – power users and admin allowed to format and eject removable media
9. Right click on the drives’ icons and I do not get the option “Sharing and security”
10. Me thinks it’s something I’m missing in administrative tools but I’m f@%ded if I can figure it out!
11. Nero burnrights wants to be reset every so often. Without touching the access settings for the drives, once it’s reset Nero recognizes them. Just a pain in the butt if its not related to this issue. Anyone else had that problem?
12. ASPI 4.60 installed & Nero 6302
