Erasing CD in Win XP

hi, i have a problem with windows XP pro cant erase any cdrw
with Nero wincd paked cd etc..... it fails all the times but in windows me or 2000 I erase any cd, please help me...

ps: same machine and I have installed the win me to tried and works but in xp don’t work.

Sorry for my ignorance but please tell me were I do the disable?

open up "My Computer" icon on desktop, then right click on your CDRW drive. You should see a tab called "Recording". In that make sure "Enable CD recording on this drive" is UNCHECKED. I repeat, do not have "Enable CD recording on this drive" check marked.
Hope that solves everything.
