Encoding error: Video Check-Sum

I am trying to convert an AVI file to SVCD using DVD2SVCD and CCE, following ChickenMan's marvelous tutorials. However, a third of the way through the encoding process, I come across this error:

cce encoding failed: Error: Video check-sum is different from that of previous pass.
source video data or time code may be different
Please check video tape or the information file.
Please check video tape or the information file.

---information---

Current: Check sum = 0101aca0
Previous: Check sum = 00d0e40e

I used DivFix to try to find errors in the AVI file, and it found none. I've come across this error three times, trying two different AVI files.

Help?

I have a P4 processor, however, the patch still worked and I was able to make the SVCD just fine. Now I have come across a second error while trying another AVI file. bbmpeg is unable to read the audio file:

Unable to read from file E:\Encoded_audio_1.mp2.

I'm not sure what the problem is. The program, or me? The file it is trying to open does exist.

Thanks.

What is the length of the Encoded_audio_1.mp2 file and what was the folder you told dvd2svcd to save all the files in? As E:\Encoded_audio_1.mp2 is in the Root Folder of a HD partition, thats not a good idea to do that. They should always be in a Folder (directory).

I have since deleted the files, and I forget the length. I made a second attempt at converting the AVI, and it worked successfully.

I am curious as to what could have caused that problem, and if I can avoid it in the future.

Also, why put the files into a folder rather than straight to the drive?

Thanks.

You will get less problems like the problem above if you use Folders. I dont know why but it seems to work better that way.
